LAB 1 MTWRF 09:00 - 12:50 Michele Moss Outline Notes: Jazz Dance Creation. A physical exploration of the ingredients of jazz dance; from the West African beginnings and the freedom of improvisation, to the structure of authentic dances. The blues structure, the many musical luminaries, the poetry of the lyrics, contemporary jazz music and social justice all play a part and inform the idiom. The most important ingredient is the storytelling of the individual maker.
