Senior Recital: Dylan Martin - trombone

Dylan Martin is a Trombone and Euphonium player currently living in the city of Calgary. He has been a performing member of the University of Calgary’s Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Brass Choir, Orchestra and Jazz Orchestra for the past five years. This past year he performed the Florida Concerto for Tenor and Bass Trombone by Frigyes Hidas with the University of Calgary Orchestra. In addition to his work with ensembles at the University of Calgary, he has been an active performer in the community as a member of The Calgary Stampede Showband, The Alberta Winds, and has been a guest musician with the Calgary Youth Orchestra. During the past two summers, Dylan has been a member of the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. In this ensemble he toured and performed in over 32 states across the continental United States, performing for many crowds in excess of 25,000 people. This past summer, Dylan was a featured euphonium soloist in their production.  While on tour Dylan had the opportunity to compete in Drum Corps International's Performer’s Showcase, where he took home the first place prize for his performance of Blue Bells of Scotland by Arthur Pryor on trombone. He was also inducted into the Blue Devils Hall of Fame this past year for his contribution and work with the organization. Dylan is very active as a music educator in and around the city of Calgary, teaching students of all ages at clinics in addition to being an instructor at the Calgary Roundup Band and the Calgary Stetson Showband. Dylan Currently studies with Jim Scot and previously studied with Michael Eastep.
