Since its inception in 1969, Dance Montage has provided lively creation and performance opportunities for both beginning and experienced dance artists. Dance Montage reaches out to the community and serves as an opportunity for artists from a variety of dance worlds to meet, create, and learn about each other’s work.

This 45th production of Dance Montage will celebrate the life of Sigurd Hagen-Torn (1927-2011), who holds the record for the number of years he was involved with Dance Montage. Sigurd began his involvement with Dance Montage at the age of 50, and he was 82 when he performed for the last time in 2009. In memory of his life and passion for dance, we have initiated a donor initiative to establish the Sigurd Hagen-Torn Scholarship in Dance Wellness & Research. Sigurd showed the younger dancers that anyone can dance at any age.

We look forward to presenting contemporary dance, musical theatre, Caribbean fusion, hip hop, contact improv and more in this 45th anniversary celebration of movement.
