Violinist Stephanie Chase joins forces with acclaimed pianist Sara Davis Buechner to perform the three Sonatas for Violin and Piano by Johannes Brahms on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. in the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall of the Rozsa Centre.
Chase is internationally recognized as “one of the violin greats of our era” (Newhouse Newspapers) through solo appearances with over 170 orchestras. Her interpretations are acclaimed for their "elegance, dexterity, rhythmic vitality and great imagination" (Boston Globe), "stunning power" (Louisville Courier-Journal), "matchless technique" (BBC Music Magazine), and “virtuosity galore” (Gramophone).

Buechner has performed with some of the world’s most prominent orchestras, won top prizes at international competitions, including a bronze medal in the 1986 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow, and has a repertoire of over 100 piano concertos. She has been praised on four continents for her “intelligence, integrity and all-encompassing technical prowess” (New York Times), “fascinating and astounding virtuosity” (Philippine Star), and “thoughtful artistry in the full service of music” (Washington Post).
