Theresa Lane

Independent Study Recital: 20th Century Violin Literature, Theresa Lane - violin

Theresa Lane began playing violin at the age of four and studied with outstanding teachers including Mrs. Alla Magid and Mr. Cenek Vrba. She performed as soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra as a finalist in the 2011 RBC Concerto Competition, as well as multiple times with the University of Calgary Orchestra. Theresa held the position of second violin in the UCalgary String Quartet in the 2011-2012 season, and has also performed with New Works Calgary and in the Red Deer Symphony Orchestra. In 2012, she won a position in the CPO second violin section, becoming the youngest current member of the orchestra. Currently, she is enrolled at the University of Calgary in the Bachelor of Music Violin Performance program, studying under Professor Agopian. Additionally, Theresa has studied at the Orford Arts Centre, the Banff Centre, ARIA International Summer Academy, and the Saarburg International Music Festival and School.
