Senior Recital: Jennifer Humphries-Micallef

Jennifer Humphries-Micallef is a fifth year undergraduate student at the University of Calgary.  She is hard at work completing a dual degree in Bachelor of Music for voice performance and Bachelor of Science in Biology.  She has been interviewed on CKUA Radio and performed as soloist with Calgary’s VoiceScapes, University of Calgary Chamber Choir, and Spiritus Chamber Choir.  She has been in masterclass with Ben Heppner, Laura Hynes, Gregory Brookes, Mel Braun, Laura Loewen, and others.  Currently studying with Patricia Hrynkiw, she has helped Jennifer to develop a rich coloratura soprano voice that will take her far in her music career.  Her numerous choir activities include the 2014 National Youth Choir of Canada, the 2014 and 2015 Ellison Canadian Honour Choirs, Spiritus Chamber Ensemble, substitute for Luminous Voices Calgary’s professional ensemble, 2010-2012 Alberta Youth Choirs, and currently choral scholar at the Cathedral Church of the Redeemer.  The memorable parts of her career include singing “O Canada” at the University of Calgary Dinos kickoff game in 2013, and singing the words “bubble n’ squeak” in her rendition of McIntyre’s Creek Bistro Specials.
