Rachel Kreyner

Grad Recital: Rachel Kreyner, piano

Rachel Kreyner began studying piano at age 6 with Irina Ginzburg, completing her Performer’s ARCT in 2009 with Ann Davidson. Rachel participated yearly in the Kiwanis Festival and CASSA (Calgary Arts Summer School Association). Rachel graduated with a combined Bachelor of Music (Performance)/ English Honours degree at the University of Calgary in April 2014, studying primarily with Professor Marilyn Engle and earning various awards for diligent study, including the QEII and SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council) grants.

Currently, Rachel is doing her Master’s in piano performance (with a focus on collaborative piano) at the University of Calgary with Professor Charles Foreman. She has six years of experience teaching privately and accompanying for children’s musical-theatre and ballet schools, as well as collaborating with University of Calgary and CPO tenured musicians. She is an active member of the musical community, performing in master classes (Honens and Pro Musica societies) and also the ‘Happening Festival of New Music and Media’ and the Mountainview chamber music festival.
