Morawski’s Junior Clarinet Recital will feature well known works by Brahms, Weber, and the world premiere of a piece by University of Calgary alumni Corey de Baat. The recital will showcase the talents of pianist Akiko Tominaga.

Thomas "Kaj" Morawski is currently working towards his Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance at the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary. He has studied with renowned clarinetists Steve Amsel and Stan Climie, and played under the baton of Gareth Jones, Edmond Agopian, Colin Clarke, Mark Hopkins, Gillian MacKay, and more. He has held the principal clarinet position in the University of Calgary Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra, as well as several other chamber groups. Other noteworthy opportunities include performing with Alberta Winds, the UCalgary Klezmer Band, the Calgary Civic Symphony, the Denis Wick Canadian Wind Orchestra, and the Calgary Stampede Showband where he has been a part of three back to back world championship titles and has received several individual awards and scholarships.

Morawski currently teaches lessons and clinics around the city of Calgary, and is the clarinet instructor for the Calgary Round-Up Band. After graduating, he will study music education and hopes to share his passion for the clarinet with others through performing and teaching.
