Junior Recital: Mighelle Wattis

Wattis’ Junior Flute Recital will feature works by Donizetti, Hindemith, Hahn, Schocker, Bozza and Handel. The recital will showcase the talents of pianist Ryan Nolin.

Mighelle Wattis is in the process of completing her Bachelor of Music degree in Integrated Studies at the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary. Mighelle is currently studying under Gwen Klassen, Assistant Principal Flute and Principal Piccolo player of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. She is presently the Principal Piccolo player in the University of Calgary Wind Ensemble and University of Calgary Orchestra. Other noteworthy opportunities include having played in the University of Calgary’s Symphonic Band for 4 years and the Calgary Stampede Showband, where she was a part of one of the world championship titles the group achieved in 2013-14 season.

Mighelle currently teaches lessons and is a conducting assistant at Heritage Christian Academy. After graduating, she will study music education where she hopes to share her passion for music with others.
