The murder trial, imprisonment and execution of falsely accused Italian immigrants, Sacco and Venzetti, was one of the most controversial legal cases in U.S. history. Their anarchist beliefs and work on behalf of workers’ rights made them easy targets for the anti “Reds” establishment looking to crush communism. Nominated for multiple Elizabeth Sterling Haynes awards, Comrades takes us into the lives Sacco and Vanzetti who escaped a life of poverty in Italy with hopes of a better life in America.
